Waking Up to Peaches by: Abdul Rahman

                                         Waking Up to Peaches
Waking up early in the morning feeling hunger I remove my blanket and walk to the bathroom where blue and white tiles surround me. I place my hands under the running worm water I fill my hands and soaked my face. Walking away from the bathroom I pull the hanging fluffy blue towel dray my face and trough it on the stool near the kitchen. Stepping into the kitchen searching for food I see two large peaches bright in color almost like a bright yellow, orange, and red-hot flame. I held the fruit in my hand with astonishment of how soft the skin felt on the palm of my hand. I stand there becoming less and less able to hold my self from cutting into it I slide the drawer opened removing a knife I sliced into it the fruit and aromas burst juices drip down the blade on to my hand.
I take the sliced wedge and place it into my mouth I sink my teeth into the wedge all my focus goes to the flavors and juices running down my throat. It was sweet like caramel smooth like silk I couldn’t wait anymore I through the knife on the counter I surround my fingers around the delicious juicy fruit and dove into it like diving into a crystal clear lake. I eat the fruit like a pack of hyenas eating a corpus and leaving just some of the bones in my case the seed left to dry on the counter like a skeleton drying in the middle of the desert. Satisfied feeling joy and blessed for being able to experience such gifts from earth. I walk back to my room with the feeling of hunger no longer in my stomach I get ready for another day of picking peaches and plums.
